Garden Ridge Lions members volunteer to be trained and to conduct hearing screening for students in grade school and junior high throughout Comal County. This program is conducted under the auspices of the State of Texas and provides school medical staff assistance in identifying children who have hearing difficulties.
A message from Lion Dick Holloway: To all my fellow hearing tester volunteers, In December, we completed our 2017 hearing testing program having visited 32 public and private schools. We commenced this journey on September 5th and have provided a hearing test for over 6000 grade school and junior high students. My most sincere thanks to all those that have participated in this year’s effort. To all I say a job well done. I appreciate your willingness to support this most enjoyable program and look forward to working with you again in 2018. We will be recruiting more volunteers for 2018 so if you are interested in participating as a new volunteer in this program please let me know. Regards, Dick My sincere thanks to each of you (actually a total of 38 volunteers) that participated in this effort. This effort would not have been possible without your support. I hope each of you had as good of a time as I did working with our future generation of citizens and leaders. I look forward to working with everyone again.
